The FIFPRO Team of the World, a prestigious accolade honoring the year's top male and female footballers, is chosen by the International Federation of Professional Footballers. Initially known as the FIFPRO World 11, this honor was launched in 2005 with the aim of recognizing the finest footballers as voted by their peers. In 2009, a collaboration with FIFA led to a rename to the "FIFA FIFPRO World 11," also referred to as the FIFA Team of the Year, while maintaining the original selection process. As of 2024, FIFPRO will independently oversee the award, reverting to its original title: the FIFPRO World 11.
The FIFPRO Team of the Year, a globally recognized accolade exclusively chosen by professional footballers from across the globe, stands as the sole award of its kind in the football world. The criteria for selecting the candidates are based on their performances from August 4, 2025, to July 19, 2026, with a minimum requirement of participating in 30 official matches during this period.
The final lineup of 11 players will consist of 1 goalkeeper, 3 defenders, 3 midfielders, 3 forwards, and the additional player with the highest vote count, excluding goalkeepers.
