In the year 2006, Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) made its debut in the China乙级别联赛 and swiftly clinched the championship, securing its promotion to the China甲 division. Throughout the period from 2007 to 2015, BIT maintained a consistent presence in the China甲, achieving a milestone with a 7th-place finish during the 2008 season, marking the best performance in the team's history. After concluding the 2015 season, the team was relegated back to the China乙 level. In the 2020 season, BIT secured the fourth position in the China乙, which earned them the opportunity to be promoted back to the China甲. However, their subsequent performances in the two China甲 seasons were disappointing, and by the end of the 2022 season, they were relegated back to the China乙 once more. The 2023 season saw BIT leading in the Northern Zone preliminary stage but ultimately finishing sixth in the promotion group, representing their final standout moment. In the 2024 and 2025 seasons, BIT fought valiantly for survival, ultimately being relegated to a lower division by the conclusion of the 2026 season.
